Measuring the Impact of Heritage Lincolnshire

For the past 2 years Heritage Lincolnshire has been measuring the impact of what we do through our work with communities and Local Authorities and on our own projects. We have looked at over 30 different indicators of success from the amount of funding we have secured to the number of businesses we have been able to support through our area grant schemes.

In 2025 we were able to secure £581,805 for our own projects including Heritage Skills Taster sessions for young people in South East Lincolnshire, for our holiday accommodation at Michaelgate in Lincoln and for a Welcome site in Bolingbroke beside Bolingbroke Castle. In the same time we have secured funding for others including Worksop Priory Gatehouse, Grimsby Synagogue, Kirby Bellars Church the United Referm Church in Barton on Humber and Goadby Marwood Village Hall.

We have administered area grant schemes in Sleaford, Boston, Skegness, Mablethorpe and Kirton helping 29 businesses improve their performance through grants to their buildings of up to £1.6m. We have improved over 30 historic buildings and improved over 20,000 square metres of public space. Through the projects we have secured an additional £833,234 of private investment from the contribution of building owners. The total investment in heritage-led regeneration through the work of Heritage Lincolnshire was £5.6m in 2025.

Through over 50 events we have provided heritage skills taster sessions for over 100 people. We have engaged with 250 people through Heritage Open Days and over 150 people in community audits.
