Wars in Scotland and France
Topic 2: Wars in Scotland and France
The reigns of Henry VII and Henry VIII were dominated by wars in Scotland and France.
Whilst these did not directly impact the county of Lincolnshire, there are records of ships being requisitioned from Boston to transport troops and it is likely that troops raised in Lincolnshire would have fought in the Kings’ armies abroad.
Little is currently known about these men, and it is only through careful study of parish accounts, and church memorials that any trace of them might be found.
