Drawing Cleethorpes
January 17 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Follow the wheels of change…
Join us on this sketching walk around Cleethorpes as we take a closer look at heritage around the seaside town! 🌊✏️
We’ll be visiting notable landmarks related to railway entrepreneur Edward Watkin, including Ross Castle, Pier Gardens and Cleethorpes Railway Station.
Our Learning Manager Anna, who is leading on the Watkin project, will begin the workshop with a brief introduction to Watkin, otherwise known as ‘Mr Grimsby and Mr Cleethorpes.’ We’ll then take a wander along the seafront, stopping to draw at each site. At each stop, Anna will also tell us more about the location and its link to Watkin’s pivotal role in shaping the development of Cleethorpes.
Whether you’re a budding artist, history enthusiast or just visiting the area, this workshop is suitable for all skill levels, why not come along!
What you need:
⭐ A sketchbook or paper of your choice
⭐ Pencils, pens, your preferred materials!
