HOD 2024 – From Barton Street to Bypass.

September 7 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm

Part of the Lincolnshire HODs Festival 2024

The town of Louth developed where the ancient trackway, Barton Street, crossed the River Lud. We look at the layout of the town’s streets in 950 AD, and the changes that came with the canal, the railway and the Louth Bypass. Nowadays, Louth may be regarded as distant from modern amenities – is this good or bad?
