HOD – An ‘Archway of Tears’ Sir Gilbert Scott’s Workhouse

Part of the Lincolnshire HODs Festival 2023

1936 work house, built following the 1934 poor law amendment to help the poor. The workhouse was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott a prolific architect of the nineteenth century, that could accommodate 350 paupers at a cost of 5,600. A fantastic building with hidden gems, a tour of the old gate house with original features. A collection of old photos and stories of people that have attended will be on show.
