HODs – Welcome to Mill Hill Cottage

Part of the Lincolnshire HODs Festival 2022

Take a look inside Heritage Lincolnshire’s picturesque mud and stud cottage with its traditional thatched roof. A rare survival of Lincolnshire vernacular building with many original external and internal features, the cottage was one of the first conservation projects of the Trust and has been sensitively renovated throughout.

Address: Mill Hill Cottage, Little Steeping, Spilsby, PE23 5BL. Parking is on the main road and the cottage is down a small lane marked by a white railing before the old telephone box. A sign will be put up at the top of the lane.

Time: Fri 9th – Sun 11th Slots available at 11.00, 11.45, 13.30, 14.15, 15.00 Note the following:
– the downstairs ceilings are very low
– visiting the upstairs of the cottage is unsuitable for the under-12s
– access is unsuitable for the less able (you could not get a wheelchair in easily for instance)
– there is an earth closet available
