Features include an avenue of Lime trees and a figure-of-eight path weaving among the gravestone and a wide variety of tree species. DESCRIPTION:Part of the Lincolnshire HODs Festival 2023\nGrantham’s overflow burial ground from 1812-57 is an evocative space and wildlife haven. In September there is usually a carpet of pink cyclamen. Engage with the stories of former residents through their artistic slate headstones and memorials. DESCRIPTION:Part of the Lincolnshire HODs Festival 2023\nA free Grantham walk that takes in some of the highlights of the town’s history. The 45-minute walk around the town centre is a real step back in time with costumed performers bringing colourful characters from Grantham’s past back to life. \nTaking place on Sunday 10 September the walk covers some of the town’s richest history and includes Westgate\, the Market Place\, the Angel and Royal\, Swinegate and Castlegate on its route. \nCharacters portrayed include Grantham’s first suffragette\, Kings John and Richard III\, Charles Dickens\, King George IV’s mistress and\, of course\, Isaac Newton. Each one has something intriguing to reveal about their lives and the town’s past. \nWalks are taking place on Sunday 10 September at 2.00pm\, 2.30pm\, 3.00pm and 3.30pm.
