Description
Following on from the success of Heritage Lincolnshire’s historic trump card projects in Boston, Sleaford, Louth, and Grantham, this pack celebrates the natural, built and archaeological
heritage of Lincolnshire’s Seaside coast from Donna Nook down to Gibraltar Point. The project began with focus on the core towns of Skegness and Mablethorpe through Heritage Lincolnshire’s work on the Connected Coast Town Deal high street regenerations projects. This project was made possible thanks to the hard work of many volunteers who researched, collated and photographed the 60 cards included in this pack.
We collated information using several categories in the game. We chose a significant date relating to the site on the card, this is sometimes the date a building was constructed, or a key date in the site’s history. Visual impact was decided by our volunteer researchers based on their impressions of the sites on each card. The heritage status on each card relates to the legal protection
each site has: Grade 1, 2* and 2 listed statuses, Scheduled Ancient Monuments, and nature reserves are included. You can learn more about these types of legal protection on Historic
England’s website. Distance from the North Sea is measured in kilometres. Not all the sites are open for public visitors. Please make sure to research any locations before going to visit them to find out about whether you can access them.
The price includes UK Postage, for international postage costs please get in touch with us.
